At ITMA 2007 show in Munich (13^th-20^th Sept.) STALAM will be presenting the latest version of its well-known range of RF dryers for the textile industry:

• the "RF" and "RFA" standard and air assisted conveyorised dryers for all kinds of textile fibres and yarns;
• the RF series includes the recently upgraded "RF 105 kW" model, which has been so far the highest capacity single-generator textile radio frequency dryer available in the world markets;
• the "LTRF" and "RFA/S" low to medium drying temperature conveyorised dryers for loose stock, unwound tow/top slivers and yarns in hanks;
• the "TCRF" thermo-controlled batch-type dryers for temperature sensitive yarn packages and tops in bump/bobbin form;
• the "RF/C" carousel-type radio frequency dryer for yarn package columns.
• the "RF/T" continuous drying and finishing equipment for woven fabrics.

On the other hand, ITMA 2007 will be the occasion for STALAM to introduce for the first time to the world markets two brand new RF dryer models.

One of them will be once again a world record as to output power rated by a single RF generator in the textile industry: 150 kW!!!

The RF power distribution electrode will be adequately sized in order to maintain the lowest possible power density on the product being dried - compatibly with the purposely reduced machine dimensions - thus ensuring a gentle drying process and the highest product quality standards; moreover, the innovative air circulation and evacuation systems will assist the evaporation process maximising the moisture removal efficiency while avoiding all dew condensation problems inside the drying tunnel. The dryer’s functioning will be supervised by the "Twin04+" dedicated microcontroller (PLC) specifically developed by STALAM for the reliable, safe and easy operation of its RF dryers.

The "RF 150 kW" dryer will be mostly dedicated to medium and large capacity yarn package dye-houses that will have the possibility, for example, to dry up to 8 tons/day of 100% cotton yarn packages in a single-generator machine which is just slightly longer than 10 m - more or less the same length of 85 kW & 105 kW dryers.

The new STALAM 150 kW dryer will enjoy the most favourable productivity / space and productivity / cost ratios - as to both capital investment and operating costs - improving further the outstanding economical convenience of the 85 kW & 105 kW model dryers.

Beside the great novelty represented by the 150 kW dryer, a real break-through in the yarn dyeing sector will be displayed by STALAM for the first time at ITMA 2007: a revolutionary drying equipment named "RFA/HP", which combines the RF technology with a few still top-secret features.

The details of this truly innovative drying concept will necessarily remain confidential for a few more weeks, until the relevant patent application will be deposited. For the time being, the following important features can be anticipated:

• it is specifically designed for yarn packages;
• it works in continuous but does not have the typical modular PP or fine-mesh PES conveyor belt;
• it is loaded and unloaded at the same (front) side;
• it performs a combined drying process with RF and air circulation through the product, at a controlled (low or medium) temperature;
• the air is pre-treated in 4 stages to make it suitable to cool efficiently the RF generator, maximize the heat recovery and ensure the highest moisture evaporation rate from the product;
• it does not require cooling water nor steam feeding;
• it has the highest hourly productivity among all RF dryers (standard type or combined with air circulation, including those using steam to heat up the air) having the same size RF generator, yet at a reduced drying temperature;
• it has the lowest power consumption among all RF dryers (standard type or combined with air circulation, including those using steam to heat up the air) per kg of dry product;
• its operation is automatically managed by PLC equipped with LCD touch-screen.

The "RF 150 kW" and the "RFA/HP" model dryers demonstrate once again that STALAM is the most innovative and far-sighted manufacturer of RF drying equipment for the textile industry worldwide.
